Some of our PhD and Masters students recently attended The New Zealand Mathematics and Statistics Postgraduate (NZMASP) conference, held in Wanaka this year (17– 19 Nov). Although they were slightly confused during some of the pure mathematics talks, they had an awesome time presenting their research and networking with other PhD students from universities across New Zealand.
Highlights included the exposure to a variety of research projects across the fields of mathematics and statistics, getting to know their fellow attendees, the fabulous catering and Rishika Chopara winning the New Zealand Statistical Association Prize for the Best Student Presentation in Statistics. Congratulations also to Godrick Oketch, whose talk got an Honorable Mention.
