A huge congratulations to Associate Professor Alain Vandal who was awarded the Littlejohn Research Award at the 2023 New Zealand Statistical Association (NZSA) conference.
Alain is committed to ensuring the internal validity of the projects in which he is involved. He is engaged in translating state-of-the-art statistical methods to human health research, whether experimental or observational, and whether focused on explanation or prediction.
Congratulations Alain! Well deserved.
Congratulations also to Amin Boumerdassi for his highly commended presentation at the 2023 NZSA conference in a tightly contested competition. Amin’s presentation discussed the use of convolutional autoencoders for signal detection of extreme mass ratio inspirals detected by the LISA mission.
